Our new Blossom range

Dear readers!

It's been a while since we've posted, but we've been busy foraging for materials which would suit our ideas!
We've started working on our jewellery range which has been pretty exciting! After working on our fabric collars and garters, we've been experimenting with combining metals with fabric for our new jewellery range. We've been inspired by nature and floral patterns, the softness of blossoms, leaves in contrast to the hardness of bark and branches. We hope we have successfully incorporated this idea into our range, and will let you be the judge of that!

More collars..and hello new Bridal collection

Today we finally listed some more products to our Etsy shop!  Two new collars have been added - A cute strawberry and cherry print..and two garters for our new bridal collection!

Nick's dining table has become our workshop!

We initially had one sewing machine between us but we humbly welcome a 60's singer machine thrifted at a great price of £10 :) We love carboot sales so much!  Other bargains we picked up were: a 50s vanity case - soon to be sewing box, and a £1 maybe 50s suitcase.  One day we would love to open our own little shop somewhere in London and adorn it with wonderful vintage finds!

Do check out our Etsy shop and let us know what you think of our new additions!

'Gartering'

Today we have been "gartering". After running around Shepherd's Bush market and looking for Silk material and lace, we have finally sat down today and decided to make a prototype garter.

We chose to make garters next as it's something Nicola made for herself for her wedding and she enjoyed making it so much. We have been brainstorming ideas for garters for future brides to be.  Our ideas have been focusing on making something elegant, unique and above all, something special for the big day!

But for today we decided to focus on something simple to begin with: a lace garter.
We wanted to use silk as it is a luxury material which would be perfect for a wedding.  However, we came across some problems whilst making it.  The material was too light and easy to pull and it would cause the overall cost to go up. We are going to try and use satin material material instead as we think it would be more durable.

Here is our prototype using the silk material and plenty of lace!

We're thinking of adding embellishments to it to make it "pop"!
What do you think? Let us know!

Opening our shop!

After working hard on our collar designs we have now finally opened an Etsy shop!

Exciting stuff for us, but when it came to taking the product pictures, cue the nervous giggling and awkward posing!

We have added our etsy shop to the right of the page --->

Neither of us have had a shop before, or tried to sell our own creations so this will be a big learning curb for us and we hope you will join us on this adventure. Please do let us know what you think as we would appreciate feedback!

Also visit our facebook and feel free to "Like" us for updates on our shop and activities.

Hello!

Hello everybody!

Welcome to our blog! We are Nicola and Natasha, a creative duo who love  making stuff, even when it goes terribly wrong sometimes!  We want to share our discoveries, adventures and disasters with the world and what better place then to start here!

Things we love:
SUSHI, video games, sewing, eating, petting Nicola's cat Maya, shopping, swapping mad ideas, trying out even crazier ideas, bargins, Ribena, cute things, insects (mainly Natasha...only Natasha), comics, art, retro stuff, vinyls, gummy sweets, and many many more...

Things we love a lot less:
Cleaning up after our projects

We hope you enjoy reading our blog!
